WHAT IS EMBODIED MAMA?
Embodied Mama is a holistic approach to pregnancy which welcomes pregnant women in all stages of the journey (very early and post-partum too!)

These personalised pre and post-natal sessions are a gentle yet powerful journey into the mind-body connection, designed to support you and your baby as you prepare for birth and beyond.
​
Blending somatics, breathwork and nervous system regulation techniques with Spinning Babies® method, these sessions offer a safe space to deepen your awareness, trust your body’s wisdom, and connect with your baby. They also help you feel more empowered, knowledgable and ready to advocate for yourself when the moment comes to birth your baby.
In times when medicalised birth rates are skyrocketing, it is my biggest mission to help women gain knowledge of what they rights are and what they can do to make their birth as easeful, respectful and gentle as possible.

Through guided pre-natal yoga practices, use of biomechanics and Spinning Babies® method as well as meditation, and breath we’ll cultivate calm, strength, and inner clarity.
This is your time to honour the changes happening within, release fear or tension, and build a foundation of confidence for labour and motherhood.

WHAT IS SPINNING BABIES METHOD?

The Spinning Babies® approach is a gentle, empowering method that supports both mother and baby in finding greater ease, balance, and alignment throughout pregnancy and birth.
​
Rather than focusing only on dilation or timing, Spinning Babies® invites us to look at the body as a dynamic, fluid system—where posture, muscle tone, and ligament balance can all influence how the baby navigates the journey through the pelvis.
​
By using specific techniques—such as daily movement, body balancing, and guided positions—we help create more space in the pelvis, encourage optimal fetal positioning, and support the baby’s natural instincts to move into a position that makes labour smoother and more efficient.

IMPORTANCE OF NERVOUS SYSTEM
REGULATION IN PREGNANCY
A regulated and well-balanced nervous system is very important during pregnancy for both mom and baby.
The nervous system acts as the master control center, coordinating and regulating all functions. During the prenatal period, the mother’s nervous system acts as the “conductor” for the child’s nervous system development as well.
This means that the calmer, happier and more relaxed the mum is, the calmer, more regulated the baby.

In our sessions together, we explore various nervous system regulation tools through the lens of Polyvagal Theory. These simple, yet powerful techniques, have been so helpful for all of my clients, both during their pregnancy, as well as when the time came to birth their babies. Embodied Mama with Alex — Pregnancy Yoga That Truly Made a Difference
I started attending Embodied Mama yoga with Alex in my first trimester, and continued all the way through to delivery — and I honestly can't recommend it enough. From the very beginning, Alex was incredibly welcoming, kind, and supportive, and her deep knowledge of pregnancy, birth, and beyond really shone through in every session. She always adapted the practice based on how I was feeling and what I needed at different stages of pregnancy. Nothing was ever too much to ask — she regularly checked in, and I felt completely comfortable reaching out with any questions at any time. During pregnancy, when I felt anxious, overwhelmed, or caught up in all the thoughts about birth and the baby, this practice was what grounded me. It helped me tune back into myself and focus on what I truly needed in that moment.
By the time I gave birth, the poses and breathing techniques we’d practiced felt second nature. My labour was smooth and relatively short (five hours), and I had a completely unmedicated birth — I truly believe that the work we did together played a huge part in that. Alex’s classes didn’t just prepare my body — they supported my mind and confidence, too. I would wholeheartedly recommend Alex to anyone who is pregnant — at any stage. She made such a meaningful difference to my journey, and I’m so grateful to have had her guidance throughout.

Alex holds a truly special place in my motherhood journey. At a time when I was at my most vulnerable, when my body was changing at a previously unimaginable rate and protecting my prescious little girl who was growing inside became my entire world, Alex was one of my main pillars of support. She was an incredibly caring and attentive guide through the many tools she introduced me to. She taught me how to trust my body to move freely and intuitively, to have the strength and confidence I needed to give birth, and to rest - a skill I lost somewhere along the way during my high-paced life. When labour came, I knew exactly what my body needed and moved with clarity and understanding, in ways we explored so many times during our practice. I knew I had all I needed to birth my baby and went through the bulk of labour relying on my own strength rather than pain medication. And in the moments I had to rest, I knew how. I started working with Alex 1:1 in my second trimester, just as I was beginning to feel overwhelmed and unsure about how best to ready both my body and my mind for the monumental task of birth ahead of me. My sessions with Alex were the perfect balm for what can be an intimidating time for a mum to be- Alex’s soothing voice and knowledgable approach meant we covered so much ground in our time together: practical, pragmatic strengthening exercises, measuring the count of a contraction to support me to understand I could do this, breathwork I used throughout labour, as well as calm, emboldening meditations allowing me to connect to myself, the time I had put aside to dedicate to the practice and connect to my baby. I was blessed with an unmedicated water birth and I feel strongly this was hugely down to the incredible preparation I had done with Alex- I would recommend working with her without a moment’s hesitation- in fact we should be so lucky to have this form of woman focused, natural, powerful support- thank you Alex!
